Student Groups

At La Perdrix we are very keen to welcome student groups.
Over the past 5 years La Perdrix has hosted both students and academic staff from Cardiff School of Art & Design, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Kansas State University, University College London and West Wales School of the Arts. We have had under-graduate and post-graduate students groups from a broad range of subjects and disciplines, Ceramics, Fine Art, Literature, Photography, Creative Writing etc.
I have brought my own BA and MA Ceramic students here for the past few years and I can honestly say it has become the highlight of their programme of study.....with many returning for further visits even after graduation.
We have a well equipped studio for all sorts of creative and teaching activities, we also have a large hangar which is ideal for any outdoor activity.
We have digital projector and laptop available for presentation and an interior projection screen that can be used in either the study or living room, both capable of taking sizeable groups, we also have a projection screen for exterior use and can easily set up an open air cinema... with a decent sound system, weather permitting.
La Perdrix also provides a wonderfully stimulating environment for research students with a beautiful and well stocked study, as well as many quite areas and wifi throughout.
La Perdrix is an ideal place for a study trip, having had 20 years experience arranging study trips for my own students I can clearly see the advantages of La Perdrix

- Cost. At La Perdrix we have kept costs to a minimum at £180 per student/ for a weeks accommodation, studio usage and airport transfers in France. I find the low cost enables more students to take advantage of the study visit. Academic staff have free accommodation on an 10:1 ratio, thus making it cheaper for the institution. Please note this cost is not transferred to student cost, it really is free.
- Self-catering/Catering option. Groups have the opportunity to have self-catering or to have any range of catering provided. Self-catering is the cheapest option for students. Factor about 10 euros a day for self-catering. We have a very well stocked kitchen for catering and also have separate kitchens in each of the properties should students want to cook or dine in smaller groups. can easily accommodate groups of 20 for dining together in either the kitchen or living room.
- Accessibility - La Perdrix is easy to get to. My students tend to fly to Bordeaux or Bergerac, both offer budget fares from many UK airports. Ticket prices are very cheap if you book out of the peak season
- Accommodation: All academic staff have their own room and depending on group size many students may well have their own room also without he need for a single supplement.. See the home page for pictures of the accommodation
