SONG WRITING RETREAT
12th -19th September 2023


A week long residential retreat in a magical setting in The Dordogne, France, practicing the art and craft of song writing for guitar players.
 
Over the week you will be taught and guided to complete your own compositions in the company of other budding song writers. There will be classes on song structure, lyric writing, rhyming structures, chord progressions, arrangements, song style, rhythm, keys, melody, chord theory, tips tricks, brainstorming and a whole lot more. Plus lots of jamming and guitar playing!

WHAT IS INCLUDED?


-Organised sessions of Individual and group tuition/mentoring/creative exercises each day.

-Individual accommodation in double or single rooms, (some shared bathrooms).

-All food and drink for the week, provided by our gourmet chef including wine or beer with dinner.

(Vegetarians and special diets etc catered for.)

-Excursions to a local village and market and one evening out to a musical event.
 
-Jamming, open mic, music quiz, film night and other optional activities each evening.

-A swimming pool!


TUTOR INFORMATION
 
Colin Wilson has produced over seven albums of published songs so far both as an individual and collaboratively, including an album with Phil Beer from “A Show Of Hands”.
 
Stuart Marshall writes and records his own compositions and has co-written many others as a member of various bands in a wide range of genres.. You can hear samples of all of our work by following the web links on the event page.
